Let's imagine all the countries cancel their borders and yet there is only one government called the 'world government' or the 'world country' on earth.
Since there is only one government, there is no possibility of having wars with any other country cos there is no other country.
Since there is no possibility of having wars, the world government doesn't need to spend the seventy percent of the country's source(which is money) to the armament just like all the countries do today.
And therefor the world government can spend that money for the welfare of its people.
Can you imagine what a huge amount of money would be saved?
There would be no poverty if the system could be formed accordingly. So there would be no poverty anywhere on earth.
Plus there would be no wars...
Instead of the armament, perhaps there would be only the police who would set the peace.
Don't you think this would be an ideal world?

I'm listening to John Lennon at the moment and the idea came from the book ''Intelligence'' written by OSHO.

You speak of utopia, but there is such thing.

As long as there is greed, selfishness, hate, ignorance, and entitlement you will never have a one world govt. I am not sure that is the answer anyways. Remember, the soviets thought of this idea, everyone is equal, in theory it sounds great but in practice it is a disaster

Thats a really nice thought and steps like globalization are being taken to implement this.
But its not very much practical - atleast at the moment. Imagine you are a king of a huge kingdom. One day someone comes to you and say that all the kingdoms are being united and some another person is going to rule this. Maybe you will agree but we must not forget that the world is full of greedy people. And suppose even if everybody agrees to unite - you'll still need local governments to keep things in order (the world's a large place). And then there might be revolts by them just like those in USSR (it was a combination of many repelics which revolted and broke apart). If one will break apart, others which may be facing minor problems will get inspired and do so too. In this way, enemity between them will increase and then world would be a worse place than it is now. And then we will have to start from scratch to establish peace.
Thus, on the whole this would need lots and lots work in order to be true

To start with, you've made a few mistakes. There’s a little something we like to call "civil war" war within a county. Just because you aren't fighting some other country doesn't mean you wouldn't be fighting. I'm sorry if I offend anyone or am simply putting down your dream of a perfect world but you have if based on no fact. As far as poverty, it will always be there. Even communism, which was supposed to eliminate poverty, had flaws that only made the rich richer and the poor poorer. Who would run this single country? One man? Every man has his flaws... So, have two men then? They tried that in previous societies, it doesn't work. A large group of people would be nice, but who is in charge of this large group of people? There’s simply no way it could be done. It's not borders, race, or gender that separates us, it's our attitude toward it. We need to open our doors, minds, and hearts if we want to survive. We have a good world with a lot of potential... but no one sees it that way. "You must be the change you want to see in the world" -Gandhi. We could learn a great deal from him.

This is a very good question. Unfortunately in my opinion the answer is no. It would not be ideal. See governments are usually formed when the 'people' revolt against the larger power, and start a revolution to establish a country that can recognize their own distinctive needs. For example: Russia used to be the Soviet Union, a large country; however in time different peoples from different parts of the Soviet Union wanted to have thier own governments...their own country. So they revolted after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and formed proud countries such as Ukraine, Kazakstan, Uzbekastan and so forth. A final example is up here in Canada. Quebec is a province that would like to be its own country, because it would like to have its own identity, seeing that the Quebecois are distinctively different than the rest of Canadians.
Poverty, and war can be eliminated only when we come to realize that the common good of all of us here on Earth is in all of our best interests....unfortuatnely that point is sometime away.

Yes, I think that would be just about the perfect world. Have you read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch? This is what is proposed in either Book 2 or Book 3. I can't recall which one now. Sounds like it all makes perfect sense to me.

Although I think John Lennon said it best:

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

It's an idea, but the borders are something that countries uphold through centuries to protect themselves and help establish order. Perhaps you could write your ideas down in some condensed form, a pamphlet?, for others to consider. Sort of like Thomas Paine's Common Sense?!

There's a book that you should read about the society you describe, "Utopia," by Thomas More. BTW, utopia means "nowhere," which is the only place your ideal could exist...
