Do you think Snape is evil or not? Why? Best explaination gets Best Answer (i wont go by if i agree or not just the one that makes most since).
I think that Snape is good and was told by Dumbledore to kill him. Maybe the potion that Dumbledore had Harry force feed him (that sounds mean but i dunno how else to put it) was going to slowly kill him. I dunno, but it sounds to me a little like Dumbledore told Snape to kill him if Draco couldn't, like he knew Draco couldn't but knew of the Vow Snape made with Narcissa, and that maybe Dumbledore was going to die anyway (like i said with the potion or maybe he just agree b/c he knew it had to happen).
Anyway i was just wondering what some people thought about this.

Oh and for a little more fun, whats your fav HP pairing (canon or not). (You dont have to answer this for the Best Answer)

To answer Crys H.'s question, i do think Sirius is really dead, even tho i would really like for him to be alove. But omg it be so freakin awesome if he come back to life cuz i mean they are still researching or w/e the Veil so it seems like something could happen. I cried when he died, even after we found out he tried to 'kill' Snape, lol by telling him to go to the Shack when Lupin was transformed i still loved him.

And Hermione/Ron is my favortie couple, closely followed by Tonks/Lupin then Harry/Ginny, (lol i forgot to say this before).

Dumbledore is definitely dead, I believe there was confirmation of that from JK at some point though I don't have a link to back that up. And I think you have it right, Snape is a good man pretending to be evil in order to spy on the enemy. The potion that Dumbledore drank was killing him and I think he knew this would happen even before he and Harry left. He likely asked Snape to do what would be necessary and I believe that Snape only agreed in order to protect Draco. Snape knew that Draco was charged with killing Dumbledore and he also knew that Draco is not a bad person, he is simply a victim of circumstance after growing up with such an evil father. Now Snape is the killer, meaning his loyalty to the Dark Lord will never be questioned again and he can continue to spy, he kept his vow to Draco's mother and Draco still has the oportunity for redemption. Dumbledore is dead, but he was spared the rather painful death that would have come from the potion he was forced to drink in order to get the horcrux. A side benefit to Dumbleore's death is that nothing will mobilize the public to action like the murder of one of the most powerful wizards in the world. He knew he was going to die anyway, why not die like a martyr to prove to the wizarding world that evil really is afoot. It all fits.

Besides, through the entire series Dumbledore was portrayed as being the most intelligent and most powerful wizard in the entire world, always knowing what needed to be done, always a step ahead of everyone else. If he was being so easily tricked by Snape this whole time then he really can't be very smart after all and his entire character falls apart.

I don't really think Snape is evil but who knows. There was something written about Snape and Dumbledore talk before their death, I suppose. It may all be an act and about Dumbledore, I think it is just real as it get. In a war, there are sacrifices and probably Dumbledore made that choice, in order for a much younger yet capable wizard like Snape to live because that vow that Snape took may kill him. To me, Snape is as loyal as a Slytherin can get which may be not that loyal but Slytherin also can be sly, so the personality of Snape is not quite known yet... to me, of course. And I really like Ginny and Harry although a bit broken hearted when Harry suggested a break up.

I'm not looking for a Best Answer in particular, so I'll just make my answer short & to the point.

I don't think Snape is evil. I think that he and Dumbledore had a plan beforehand. I don't know why I think this, except for that I don't think Dumbledore would have really just gone from the world that simply. I trust JKR had something better in mind. I mean, if she's going to kill off a beloved character, I don't think that she would've done it without any planning beforehand.

My favorite pairings are Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. I used to like Neville/Luna, but as JKR shot that down, I'm back to the two other pairs.

Ok sorry if this answer is generic or if you have already gotten it because I havnt read them all. I agree with you. Snape was told to kill Dumbledore. At one part in the book Hagrid says Snape and Dumbledore were arguing, it was about the fact that snape would have to kill dumbledore. Dumbledore would rather give his life to save even the low lifest of people (Malfoy). Also Dumbledore trusts snape and he would not want snape to have died.
Rowling only has one book left and its going to be crazy, but its going to be the end. With that in mind think about it. Snape will have complete trust from Voldemort, he will be told everything without any sort of doubt. He will be all knowing and thus he can help harry. It will take alot for harry to believe snape, and he may even kill him before he finds out. But snape is a jerk but not evil. I'm not even looking to score best answer but I just truly think that snape is not evil. He may still hate harry but he loved dumbldore and he will continue to do his bidding. Dumbledore knew that Malfoy was going to try and kill him becuase he told malfoy this, but he never said how he found out (Snape) because harry was in the room and Dumbledore needed harry to get the word out that it was snape so snape would be deemed bad by the good and good by the bad. It all fits. Haha thanks for reading all this.

I think that Dumbledore wanted Draco to stay "innocent" -- that is to say, not become a murderer if he could help it. Also, JK did say that the hero needed to go on alone -- all the people who could have guided him are now gone (his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore). I think that Snape is not evil but was working on Dumbledore's orders.
I hope Harry and Ginny get together again at the end of Book 7.

Snape IS evil. That's why we love him so much. But, I don't think he's truly with Voldemort and I totally agree Dumbledore ordered him to kill. Possibly, even by insisting on Snape taking an Unbreakable Vow to do whatever it takes for his cover not to be blown. I just hope that his hard work of many years will not be "rewarded" by Azkaban or even worse - Avada Kedavra. Well, that's what I believe. Then again, even if Snape did more atrocious things than killing Dumbledore - I'd still root for him in the end.

I believe with all my heart that Snape isn't evil. We have thoughts he was evil so many times only to have JKR prove us wrong. And Snape and Dumbledore were speaking in the hall and Dumbledore told him to do something. I think he may have told him to kill him. I think it will be interesting to see how Snape is reintroduced to the good side since most of them now think he is evil.

As for couples Ron and Hermoine will stay together if one of them doesn't die. I think Harry will come to his senses and take Ginny back. He'll need someone for support. Not physical support but emotional support.

I believe that Snape is undercover, and is a man of his word. He promised to protect Draco, so he did. And I think that it isn't yet time for him to blow his cover. He has something more important to learn or do.

I'm still rooting for Ginny and Harry, and Hermione and Ron. I'll be terribly disappointed if Harry winds up as sad and miserable as Frodo in LOTR-The Return of the King.

To spur the debate on--who thinks Sirius Black is really dead? Why or why not?

He is a real evil. Killing Dumbledor proves this. Dombledor is not crazy, he wouldn't tell Snape to kill him! He knew that Harry needs him a lot and his death won't help to any thing.
Snape kills Dambledor, because he doesn't want to die. If he was with Dambledor, he would prefer himself to die, not Dombledor that his life was more valuable than Snape's.
Believe it, Snape is an evil!

I think that Dumbledore wasn't really Dumbledore. I think someone else had been taking a polyjuice potion to look like Dumbledore. So that person died, and Dumbledore is still out there, except everyone, including Voldemort, thinks he's dead.
