Yes, online dating is shopping for love. Yes, we have become this pathetic.
This guy who has just begun his THIRD marriage tried to bully me into using online dating becuase their is always someone for everyone and remaining single annoys all the married people I know. He couldn't believe I wasn't interested in electronic shopping for human beings...
I didn't tell him he was being a turd and that marriage #3 was gonna come unglued on him within 3 years...

Shopping for love? Isn't that what all of dating is about? Looking for and comparing the best deal for our time and emotional investment.
Online dating simply opens up the opportunity to meet and talk to people you would otherwise have never met, an d possibly in areas of the world you may not have thought of either. It just makes busy people who are out of ideas on where to meet someone for a relationship a place to do so, without hanging out at the bars and clubs.
Used sensibly, online dating is a great tool.
