I do. All the time.

Like this one fat co-worker of mine came into the office wearing a purple business suit last week. I complemented her and said it really 'suited' her. She was all smiles the rest of the day. But, of course after giving her praise, I told everybody else in the office that she looked like Barney on crack. Oh we had such a good laugh that day.

So, do any of you tell white lies easily? Do you think it is morally wrong and reprehensible?

Doesn't sound to me like you're telling lies to make others feel good, but rather to give yourself (and coworkers) a laugh. I think that's cruel. It's one thing to compliment someone (even if you don't really mean it), but to then discredit the compliment by talking behind that person's back about how she REALLY looks (in your opinion) is just mean. I bet you're no prize. How would you like someone to do the same thing to you? Would that make you feel good about yourself? Why don't you grow up.

I think you're a jerk. No, I never lie to people to make them feel good, but if I did I wouldn't be two- faced and say nasty things behind their backs. That was a really bitchy thing to do. Were you on your period?
