I'm going with Kobe. He carried a very mediocre Laker squad to the playoffs and a near upset of the team with 3rd best record in the west. Two years, no Shaq, no rings is an oversimplified explanation. Two years, no teammates, no rings would have been more accurate. Yes, Wade did win a ring, but he was surrounded by a virtual who's who of NBA talents. You say if Duncan is surrounded by the right cast, he can win every year. Well, he was surrounded by the right cast this season and it didn't help him get out of his conference. I could have easily gone with Lebron b/c much like Kobe his team wasn't all that good, but I penalize him b/c he plays with a pretty good center.

Allen Iverson. He has so much heart, and I think he could be a real leader. He has pulled the Jordan Move by tellin his teammates that if they wont win the game, and wont try, give it to him. He says "if youre not even going to try, dont bother" as reverse psychology at halftime, the sixers came back and won that game. MJ pulled this stunt numerous times, I would pick AI. When Michael Jordan was asked who he thinks is most like him, and the heir to Air (haha) he didnt say tmac, kobe, or lebron, he said AI. If Mike says it, and it regards basketball, convo over.

TIM DUNCAN @ AGE 29 IN HIS PRIME HE HAS NOW LOOKED UPON AS THE BEST LOW-POST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE SINCE THE DECLINE OF SHAQ. HE IS A BETTER SCORER IN THE BLOCK THAN SHAQ AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER,BETTER THAN YAO EVEN IF THAT MIGHT CHANGE IN 3 YEARS,AND THE ONLY LOW-POST DEFENDER BETTER THAN HIM NOW IS BEN WALLACE BUT YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE HIS ALL-AROUND PLAY THAN BIG BEN!!!
NOT TO MENTION HE ALREADY HAS 3 RINGS,2 OF WHICH CAME AT THE EXPENSE OF SHAQ IN HIS PRIME. NOT TAKING ANYTHING FROM D-WADE BUT IF AVERY JOHNSON DIDNT DOUBLE-TEAM SHAQ IN THE FINALS WOULD THEY HAVE WON IT ALL,KOBE IS A GREAT PLAYER BUT 2 YEARS NO SHAQ= NO RING. EVERYONE SAYS DAVID ROBINSON WAS A HUGE PART OF TD'S 1ST 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS BUT REAL SPORTS ANALYSTS KNOW "THE ADMIRAL" WASN'T THE SAME AFTER THE '96 SEASON,NOWHERE NEAR HIS '95 MVP FORM. IF TIM DUNCAN IS SURROUNDED BY THE RIGHT PIECES EVERY YEAR HE COULD PROBABLY COME CLOSE TO 6 RINGS PUTTING HIM AT A STATUS MORE ELITE THAN SHAQ AS A BIG MAN BUT HE'S A POWER FORWARD MAYBE THE BEST TO EVER PLAY THE GAME AT LEAST ACCORDING TO CHARLES BARKLEY AND KENNY THE JET SMITH!!!

Lebron James, because he has the ability to make all his team mates better. Also he was able to lead the whole Cavs team of o.k. players and a rookie coach to a game 7 against Detroit.

i'd pick my main man dwayne wade... he's been always an underrated player since his college days and its just now that he's caught the world's attention... he was so unguardable in last year's playoffs that opponents would resort to blaming the referees for making him so unstoppable... he has a minor weakness to his game and that is 3point shooting but with his work-ethic, he'll surely work on it and that will eventually become one of his strengths...he's already a very special player now and he can even be more special if he wins more rings...i think there's no stopping this fella...

Bron Bron. Not only is he the best team player in the league with the most charisma, he will make you more $$ than any other player in the league getting people in the stands, which in turn will make the team better as well.

Steve Nash. The most important position on the team is PG hands down. If a team wants to be successful , they need a leader and a pass first PG.
