Yes.I think what I gained the most from this year's world cup was that insight into how some players just live for themselves and not for their team or nation - as a direct result of too much media attention and hype.And these particular characters need to seriously get off their " high horses " and start getting " real " in terms of improving their game, mindset and team ethics. Too many great teams ( a few I can count! ) have lost their matches due to the above forementioned.
This should be a learning curve for them all as its been for me as an audience and fan.
Ive never really been an avid football fan but I'm hooked as from now. I dont know what happened. Maybe Ive matured as a person as far as sports is concerned.
I look foward to 2010 in South Africa!

Yes. I started more people who knew nothing about soccer to start watching world cup and see how soccer isn't always boring. I also gained the fact that even though I may never get to play on that stage just watching some of the games inspires me to go out and have my last season of college soccer be the best season of my life!

Yes. A lot of self-confidence, new friends, a better relationship to my hubby, and just a better view on life itself.
But I also lost something...: lots of money... because a beer was up to 4 Euro..... and I drank a lot... ;-)

interest in soccer, more soccer knowledge, crushes on soccer players, and actually had a conversation starter with new ppl..
