Because I sacrificed as a young man, got an education, lived and learned, helped many, many people along the way, learned how to grow money, shared my love with family and friends, tried to life an exemplary life, and as an adult did as little harm as I could.

"Set for life". Let me tell you what that means to me:

Within the next 10 years I plan to set aside money to start my own small business in the community where I settle down into a house (I rent now). I plan to invest my time and energy into a business, so that when I retire from my career (teaching), I will work for myself, and will be able to enjoy my business' growth. I hope that this dream will become a reality, and maybe then I will be "set for life". Even when I quit working a full-time job, I will still work. I see working-- in whatever capacity-- an expression of my love for my community, my family, and myself. The only time I plan to discontinue working, is when I am old, gray, and no longer capable of laboring to support myself and my husband. Then, I will probably still volunteer, and have hobbies. So, is that your definition of "set for life"? I think I am worth that much. I just want to be happy. Work is part of my equation for happiness. I think it's a good idea. Hopefully, by the time I am old and gray, I will have saved and invested enough that I will not need social security, a pension, or other outside financial source to lead a decent life through my "golden years". Thank you, and God bless.

I don't feel that I need to be set for life, I feel that I deserve as much as anyone else. I am 41 years old and have been working since I was 13 on the Dairy Farm I grew up on and working in Tobacco and at 16, I became a student Bus Driver for a Elementary school. Then at 21 I joined the Military, been through Desert Shield/Desert Storm (6 mths) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (16 mths), total 14 yrs military service between active duty and national guard time and now I work for state government. And I am just about tired of working and tired of struggling. I am on my second marriage and have been financially strapped since day one (my ex-husband took me to the cleaners). I work hard for everything and have nothing. I will work, try to provide for my family and praise God, for he is my Savior. God Bless and take care.

I don't, but it sure would be nice.
We just started our own company and I learned right off the bat that I'm only worth so much...and it's not as much as I thought. Now I'm farther in debit and swimming with the fishes right now, but at any point the concrete shoes could come.
I would just like to have enough money to pay the bills, get this business flowing and let my son have a company someday so he can have a better life than I do right now.
I think being set for life has a lot of grey areas to it...

Because I don't have a whole lot of life left and I am really tired of working! Probably not the winning answer, but it's how I feel.
