Admit to your war crimes during the Iranian-Iraqi civil war and well, asking for atonement won't do any good, since you are one of the ANTICHRISTS like Nostradamus predicted, Mussolini, Hitler, etc... The only good 'antichrist' was Johnny Rotten and that was a metaphor for human nature, a performance art, ironic punk theatre, a critique of the pomposity of rock in the mid-seventies...

I agree with composertype - Saddam should apologise for cimes against humanity, repent and accept whatever the sentencing meted out to him.

time to cut a deal, you bastard. call on the prosecution to end the humiliation of humanity which is your trial. plea out for the death sentence. you have earned it, the prosecution will accept it, and the world would be pleased with it. with the UN on your side, you will die of old age long before your sentence is carried out, and it will be more pleasant for you than what any Iraqi citizen would carry out upon you.
