I am looking for the nice padded books that servers leave on your table with your food bill inside. Usually has a spot for a credit card. I have tried discover and american express websites...but no luck. HELP! Anyone....

Your husband did absolutely the right thing. He started with the 'guest of honour', then worked round the table and ended with himself. This is standard, and very helpful to the waiter, who then finds it much easier to serve the right food to the right person according to their position at the table. In a small group of three or four, sure, let the ladies' orders be taken first, but in a larger group, this is perfectly correct. YOU are over-reacting. You and your husband were treating your brother and his son: it was right that their orders should be taken first.

If you have a Smart and Final store (chain) in your area, they too sell those, any local company that sells restaurant supplies (yellow pages) will probably cover those too...
