America has become a fascist state, exhibiting all defining characteristics of fascism: Powerful and Continuing Nationalism; Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights; Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause; Supremacy of the Military; Rampant Sexism; Controlled Mass Media; Obsession with National Security; Religion and Government are Intertwined; Corporate Power is Protected; Labor Power is Suppressed; Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts; Obsession with Crime and Punishment; Rampant Cronyism and Corruption; Fraudulent Elections. There exists in America the kind of political and cultural climate that existed in Germany that led to the rise to power of Adolph Hitler and the Nazi party. I wonder with ever-rising fear what will be the end-point? What will it take before we reverse the course that the neo-and religious conservatives have set us on? Will we see concentration camps? Secret police? Lynchings? A new Scopes trial? When will democracy and America return?

Americans are notoriously reactive ~ not proactive. No one is going to stand up and say anything until it's gone too far, and then it will be too late. The Nazis didn't take away the German citizens' rights all at once. They did it gradually, one little liberty at a time. People are busy in their lives and if it doesn't inconvenience them at the moment then they overlook it. Then one day you wake up ~ and you're inconvenienced, because all of your rights have been taken away. By then you no longer have the right to do anything about it.
The neocons know that Americans are reactive. They know that the majority of Americans do not support war unless there is a very strong, overwhelming justification for it. This is why they fabricate things to gain support of the people.
They, on the other hand, are proactive. They believe that America should deal with a threat (Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Syria) before they have the ability to actually pose a threat.
Why wouldn't they deal with the American people in the same way? Control the people before they pose a threat to their power. Why wouldn't they take away our rights before we decide to use them to threaten their goals and power?
They know how far they can push, and they know to set it up so that once people start to object, it will be too late.
We just have to hope that this is a cycle, and it will come to an end before it goes too far.

Likely financial or social collapse.
While America is not yet to the point where the Dixie chicks would be arrested, it is heading in that direction.
Freedom of the press and freedom to protest are being infringed and a mentality of fascism is most certainly rising. Whether America will step back from that brink will be seen at the nest elections.
America either needs to stand for those ideals that are enshrined in our consitution and our Bill of Rights or it ceases to becomes a land that deserves to be free

America is not under Facist rule, if ti were you wouldn't even be getting to post on here, not to mention Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks would have been Jailed but instead they are still free but certainly getting booed a lot because the ones doing the booing are experssing their own Free Speech.

What will happen first is that all the seditious, traitorous socialists who are continuing their campaign to undermine our country for political purposes will be arrested and given the choice of deportation or imprisonment.
