just because she's growing pubic hair doesn't mean she'll start her period really soon. I was about 9 or 10 when i first got some (i even started developing in the chest area around then too). However i didnt start my period until i was 12. it could happen soon after or it could take a few years. dont worry too much about it. if ur still concerned then get a bag of pads just in case. some girls do get their period at 8 or 9 some wont get it until 16 it just depends but either way pubic hair is not a good indicator of when she'll start

I did the same thing. I also started my period at 9. I feel pretty bad for her having to go through cramps, moods, and bleeding at such a young age. It's really difficult on a young girl if she doesn't have an older woman to talk to about it. You should talk to your Mom about it. If that is not an option try some other woman from church, a family friend, or a teacher at school.

I'm not a girl but I worked as a Registered Nurse for years. 9 is
very early to start puberty. Does your mother know about this? I think your sister should see a doctor in case she is having hormone problems.

It could be anytime. Talk to your mom and have her get pads just in case. Some girls can start getting hair down there and not have a period for a few more years. It just depends.

Some girls get hair "there" and under their arms and still do not start their periods till they are 12 or 13, It just means that her hormones are starting to kick in. Tell her not to stress....I have a nine year old myself and she takes after me and has body hair early in life, she may have to shave her legs alot more then normal girls though..lol...When she starts, that is.....

Just because "that's" there, doesn't mean you are about to start. Every girl is different. I didn't have my period years after "that". But you might need to buy some pads for her just in case. You need to have a little talk with her about it. Not "the talk" though.

FIRST HOW OLD ARE YOU? IT COULD BE SOON AND IT COULD BE 5 YEARS. I STARTED GROWING HAIR AT 9 AS WELL AND DID NOT START MY PERIOD UNTIL I WAS 12. I AM NATURALLY HAIRY I HAVE HAIR ALL OVER SO THAT'S WHY. DOES SHE HAVE A HAIRY BACK,LEGS,ARMS? IF SO HER HAIR 'DOWN THERE' MAY NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A PERIOD.
