After two years my divorce was finally granted in December, however I do not have a divorce decree. Supposedly his lawyer is to write up the paper, they did one set in March but had the wrong information on it. I still have not heard anything. Am I still married? My lawyer is a jerk and won't do anything until I pay him and I don't want to pay him until I am divorced. I am in Nevada.

Your at your Lawyers mercy. He will get his money. trust me.

Might as well, fork it over now.

Your divorce was only "granted". Meaning, the court approves the divorce petition. Your Lawyer will hold this paperwork up, until he gets his money. Are you married? have you got any paper that says. YOUR NOT?

Good Luck.

If you want your papers, you're going to have to pay your lawyer. He's using that as collateral for payment. So, pay the man.

I would contact the courthouse and see if it has been filed there. I would also contact the judges office that declared the divorce and tell them what is going on.

ick...I'm not sure, maybe it means you won't be able to finalise your divorce until your lawyer is paid? you know how yucky lawyers can be..
