he knows how i feel and he knows i still love him. but he says its only a maybe in time. does any one have any advice what i should do?

How did your relationship end? If you were at fault then give him space but let him know that you are available and want to be with him when he is ready. If you weren't at fault, it sounds like he is stringing you along. If this is the case then go on with your life. If he does want to be with you some time in the future, decide what you want. Maybe you will have moved on and found someone else, or maybe you will want to be with him. Do what is best for you. Good luck.

Back off and leave him be...There must have been a problem for you two not to be together and now that he is gone you think you can just say I love you and he comes running back ..Give it up...Saying I love you and showing him is 2 different things...If you love him leave him be and maybe he will return to you when he is ready ....

Back off and give him some breathing room.
Leave him alone and he will probably make contact with you. If not, leave him alone.
