during his streak, id have to agree that matt holliday is the games best hitter.. BUT JUST DURING THIS LITTLE STREAK. overall in the season, i doubt holliday will last and will fall back into the ranks he is used to. the leagues best hitter who is not only good for homeruns and hits, but for his persistance, is Albert Pujols. Theres just no comparison to him. He's the leagues best hitter OVERALL.

Hamilton took 8 years 2 get 2 the MLB after being draft 1ST ordinary in 1999. Holliday took 6 years 2 get 2 the MLB after being draft 210TH ordinary in 1998. Hamilton became a guy who became meant to be the perfect hitter round 2002-2003 yet finally end up in 2008. Holliday became a guy who became meant to be a minor league participant till eventually round 2008 yet broke out in 2005.

Travis Hafner: FIVE GRAND SLAMS BEFORE the All Star Break, hitting over .300, and has already 70+ RBI's. I do believe with the bases loaded he is batting .700 and has hit five out of the park, not counting what he might do this weekend! Plus he got robbed of another All Star game and he has the better numbers of the DH guy who has been chosen, Richie Sexon by a long shot!!

I'd have to say not only is there Pujols...which, duh.
There's a catcher named Joe Mauer playing for the Minnesota Twins.
The kid is absolutely amazing in every aspect of the game.
