Ahhh! I don't know how anyone COULD do it every day? I wait until it grows back enough to get to the 'itch' point .. where the hair on the side is poking you and making it itch. Then I shave again. You can try "nairing" the top portion of down-there, but I wouldn't go any further than that. Made that mistake *once*.

It isn't so much a matter of cutting yourself, because as long as you are using a good blade, you should be fine. But when you are shaving something that's barely there, you're going to get razor burn. It's like shaving your legs 2 days in a row ... do that enough and it starts to hurt. *shrug*

I guess it's all up to you, but I always give hair a chance to grow back in a bit before shaving again. you get a closer shave and less ingrown hairs ... which can be pretty wicked down there.

Edited to add: To the person that said she is shaving her labia .. she isn't doing that either. Take a look down there and tell me if you have hair on YOUR labia. She's talking about the general pubic hair region. Just because she said "vagina" instead doesn't change what she was asking. What IS it with people lately?!

Oh my god please dont shave it its so bad for you. WAX WAX WAX! If you're cutting yourself etc then its already clear that your skin is way to sensitive for shaving. Start out by going to the beautician then once you get used to it you can just start waxing yourself. Also, when you shave it grows back thicker and corser everytime where as if you wax it actually gets thinner. If you shave everyday within a few years you're going to have a crotch full of steel wool. Waxing is the way to go, super smooth for weeks. Use a product like "ingrow go" for a few days before you wax to prevent in grown hairs, talcum powder during so the wax goes on nicely, tea tree oil after waxing to sooth the redness. Ok, so its effort but I think that lovely part of your body deserves it haha. And yes it hurts, but only the first couple of times, as the hair gets finer its removed easier until it doesnt hurt at all!

daily maintainence of shaving usually over time makes it easier to keep the genital area free from hair and using a good baby powder after shaving helps to prevent the "bumps" and irritation. use a new razor every time to prevent drag on the skin.
the alternative, at around 45 US dollars, is to get a Brazilian wax, and that will last several weeks. check with your local Spa or salon.

A good razor and shaving cream. I have not had any problems and I shave it everyday. I also use a face lotion on it as soon as I get out of the shower.

The pubic area does not have to shaved everyday. I wait until it grows back. I even wait a few days until I shave my legs.

I'm sure you need to shave every day. When you do shave, use the same soap and a good razor like you would in other places. My fiance and I both invested in laser hair removal (Brazilian) and there is nothing finer than a smooth...

I find it harder to do the longer I wait. Make sure you're using a good shave cream and razor. Can't be cheap when it comes to that area!

As I understand it, there are special lubricated shaving creams that are intended for just that purpose. I can't link to any sites due to this site's community guidelines, but there are tasteful intimacy awareness sites on the web that can help.
