God is a Spirit. God is Love. God is light. Those are all from the Bible. If you really want to investigate the nature of God then I recommend that you take a look at this short On Line book called "Knowledge of the Holy" by A W Tozer. He has obviously spent many days and hours researching and meditating on the nature of God.

Let me explain this way:
God is the original Image
Man & all things is the image of God
Image means picture or mirror
How can we deeply know the Image in order to understand the Original
It is by Cause (original Image) ------ Result (Image/picture/mirror)
So the Cause can be understood by studying the Result (Effect)
In Science nature is composed of:
Atoms (+ & -, cation & anion, masculine & feminine)
Particles (+ & -)
Plants (+ & -, Stamen & pistil)
Animals (+ & -, male & female)
Man (+ & -, Man & woman, masculine & feminine)
Therefore, since the image is of + & - or masculine & feminine, therefore, the original Image which is God is also a being of + & -,
or the original masculine & feminine.
Also within man or woman there is masculinity & femininity. In men masculinity is dominant over its femininity, while in women is the vice versa.
With this,since God is the original masculinity & femininity, therefore, His direct image is man who possess the same qualities of God. That includes Heart, intellect, emotion & will.
That's why, God claims man as his children because, Man is his direct image!!!
Also that's why man calls God father because actually it emphasizes God's masculinity!!!

God is a belief that keeps whoever is believing from feeling that life is meaningless, or that it is hopeless. It keeps people driving to fufill themselves and to empower others without asking 'why put forth the effort?' If you put a faith into a greater presence you are putting reason into your life and therefore you gain the resilience you need to continue on to the next day.
And when you put all your faith and belief in something, it becomes something great and something real. So I guess then, that God is what you make Him.

He's the greatest drug dealer of all time.....as it were. He's the opiate to the masses and allows people a distorted worldview. Without him, life would be deppresive knowing of the objective reality that we all face utter death and destruction, and that all our accomplishments will be lost to oblivion.
