They are/will be legitimate unless and until it is proven that he cheated by taking performance-enhancing drugs or otherwise cheated.

Statistics accumulated in official Major League games can not simply be erased. The numbers are what the numbers are. However, I think it is obvious Bonds has used steroids and other substances to enhance his performance. Given that, I wouldn't consider his numbers legit. I wouldn't want him in the Hall of Fame. The argument that he had a Hall of Fame career before he did steroids doesn't wash. When a player is considered for the Hall of Fame, his entire career is considered. Conveniently wiping out a part of his career that might keep him out of the Hall is unfair to other players.

I guess it all depends on what the courts decide; if it is decided he lied to the grand jury, then his whole career is toast, realistically. The sports writers (aka, HOF voters) will crucify him.

Personally, I think that if he started juicing in 1998 (and I believe he did) in response to the McGwire/Sosa home run race, than anything he did after that should be void, but what he did before still counts, he did it legitimately until 1998. Realistically, though, if he is convicted of anything he can kiss the HOF goodbye, even if his pre-98 performance merited it. It's too bad he turned to cheating. He really had a great legiit career going, and, ultimately, I think he will have thrown it all away in search of glory.

I don't like Barry, but in all fairness, I would have to consider it legit only because there's no proof of his alleged steroid use . . . yet.

Also because it might not be fair to the other players that have been accused of the same thing.

If their rec's weren't considered legit and Barry's was, but there's no proof of any of them using steroids, then that wouldn't be fair to them.

But personally, I think he's a user! }: (

Until baseball gets rid of all the enhanced players and the players rely on talents and skills, the game is a joke. Bonds has done more to disgrace the sport than almost anyone in the last 30 years.

completely irrelevant. How pathetic are the AFL with all their bleating about cleansing up the game and so on. some journeys yet another; provides a gentle love faucet to the tummy; bumps someone marginally severe & they get some weeks. corridor does some thing that ought to kill yet another & receives seven weeks. How is this for being blatantly glaring? If corridor had gained 6 weeks he may were through renew adversarial to - wager who, THE EAGLES! so that they offer him 7 weeks. not 8 not 10 - yet 7. How glaring is that???

Legit! Bonds has never tested positive for any drugs. He's one of the greatest players of all time, people just hate him because he's not on there team or they are racist.
