Yes, for sure! It is called a bone bruise. Use RICE. Rest Ice Compression Elevation. If however it continues to hurt then go and see a orthopaedic doctor.

A bruise occurs when your flesh is traumatized enough to sever and misalign tiny blood vessels, flooding that area with blood. The gradual change in color of a bruise is due to the blood cells initiatlly dying, and then being reprocessed by other cells.
your bones produce blood cells and so have tiny bloodvessels extending out from them. I think that in theory (I'm obviously no doctor) that injuring those could cause bruising.

I don't htink it can be, because a true bruise is the breaking of capillaries in the skin which causes blood to flow into the muscle and tissue, although you might be able to bruise the marrow in the bone, but it would not be able to be seen.

Oh yeah. It hurts really bad too.
You can expect the bruise to last quite a while if you bruised the bone-- like a couple of months.

i would take some ibuprofen, it decreases pain and swelling and day the day off. dont forget to ice it if its hurting.
