From Mary, Queen of Scots, no. But there is a possibility there are a few descendents from James, but they would be on the wrong side of the blanket. The Stuart line died out, officially, but family tradition says that we are sept to the Stuarts, which means we descended from an illegitimate branch. How true it is, I have no idea.

yes sir, I'm one of them, from the Stuart/ Bureau line, descendant of James I. And the royal family right now is mostly a vast mix or Hungarian, French, German, etc. Continental European more than Anglo Saxon. Being of British descent is generally considered as having been born in the British Isles, but most of the Royalty's ancestors are from Continental Europe.

Being as there was no birth control in those days and males of the royal family liked to put it about a bit, I'm sure there are hundreds of them. The present Royal Family are Germans so they don't count. Their real name was Saxe-Coburg Gotha which was changed to 'Windsor' by King George V on 17th July 1917 as we were at war with Germany at the time and he was afraid that public opinion was going against them. After all Kaiser Wilhelm, the German ruler, was his cousin. The name Windsor was chosen because they spent most of their time at Windsor Castle which they thought was more comfortable than Buckingham Palace, which was too drafty for them. Some of them were Battenburgs but they changed to Mountbatten which they thought sounded more English.

Yes, they are German Nobles and would have a Jacobite claim to the throne of England. Franz Bonaventura Adalbert Maria Herzog von Bayern would be the current claimant.

I have Stuart blood, on my mother's side (Douglas as well). I also know a friend that has some Stuart blood in her family. It's not all that uncommon, really.
