Can i block a particular best site through avg, i want to be able to stop a family member from accessing a certain website, programs like net nanny n similar wont do it

You can block any site by editing the "hosts" file in your system...

Depending on your OS version, this file will be in different locations, but use the "file find" function to locate it, or see table below:
Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS


You can edit it with any plain text editor.

It contains sites followed by ip addresses, and any site in this list will bypass normal DNS lookup.

To block a site, add it to the list and put "127.0.0.1" for the IP address... This effectively blocks all access to that site on your machine.
