Depending on where you live, many Grand Lodges have "1 day classes" in which you can become a Master Mason in one day. I live in Massachusetts and have participated in several.

However, I recommend that you do not do this, as I think that you will not get as much out of it. Rather, you should do it the traditional way by joining a lodge and doing the three degrees separately. It usually takes about 3 months, and is much more rewarding.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.

In American Co-Masonry, you cannot. It takes you at least a year.

What is the point in rushing through degrees? It is like someone being granted a diploma by mail: great, you have a piece of paper, but do you have the wisdom that goes with it? Then there are the even higher degrees! Alchemy is a slow fire. We in America expect instant everything. Be very cautious of such instant Masonry.

Each degree carries with it its own lessons, its own maturation. I understand in some Orders they do not allow anyone who is not a 3rd degree to attend Lodge. That would sort of make the lower degrees very short steps, then.

You are Masonically an adult as a Third Degree. Lots of responsibilities like voting. By the time someone puts on a Master Mason's apron, they should be ready to perform almost any office asked of them by the Master of the Lodge. Someone getting a one day degree certainly could not do that. Again, maybe that is different in your Lodges.

In any case, I urge you to study with your degree team and learn what you need to learn. It deepens you, no matter what your Path, no matter what your Order. Ask yourself (and others) why you are in Freemasonry. If it is not to improve yourself, talk with others some more.

Just my take on things as one of these "esoteric, not really real Freemasons" Co-Masons. *grin*

Either have the last name Mason or do brick and stone work, and commit a lower level crime! ;-)
