why is it that a woman has the right to do what she wants to her body when it concerns abortion, but when she want a tubal to PREVENT pregnancy she no longer has the freedome to do what she wants to her body, unless she already has 2 kids??????is it just me, or does this make you think they would rather you kill a baby than make the wrong choice to steralize yourself?!

but they dont make you wait 30 days to get an abortion!that is a big decision too! only your choosing for someone else as well.
i have 4 kids, my sister is the one who does not want children, she is a virgin, getting married soon, shes researching birth control and we realised this point today.

its crazy how that works. i believe that you should get your tubes tide instead of killing a human being who didn't ask you to bring him to this world.

You better read up on that. That choice depends on the doctor you see, the state you live in and your physical and emotional state.

It is considered an elective surgery unless medically necessary, so it is not any different that abortion in the sense that it may not be covered through your health insurance. The reason many doctors do not reccommend that a woman have a tubal unless they have had at least 1 child, is because they want the woman to really make sure that she wants to make this permanent decision.

Besides there are plenty of other options you can choose from BEFORE you get to the point of chosing to kill a child. IUD, depo, b/c pills, b/c patch, nuva ring, condoms, just to name a few. You could also stop having sex if you don't want children. But it's not like a tubal is the ONLY way of preventing a pregnancy.

There is no legislation on tubal ligation, nobody made any legal comparison between tubal ligation and abortion. You are stating a rhetorical question because the two are not legally related.

On another hand, though I agree with you. It is unfortunate that society has legalized and institutionalized the killing of another human being.

Find a different doctor. Many childless people who I've known who've gotten steralized go in, sign a paper indicating their interest, and have a 30 day waiting period before they'll do the surgury. They want to be sure you've thought this out. I can respect that. This is a pretty serious decision, and particualy if you're single, you're making a choice for your future spouse.

See another doctor. I personally know women that have had tubal ligation's at the age of 24-30 with 1 child. It all depends on which doctor you see.
