You know when you search for files or folders on your computer and when you type in a word it gives you a list undernearh of all the items you've searched before with that same first letter in it? How do you clear all those selections?

This has nothing to do about the internet. Its on the start menu then search for files or folders. How do you clear all those selections from the drop down menu when you search for something? Thanks.

Please backup your registry before doing this.
Follow these steps:
1. Open search window
2. Type an odd filename like *.123abc and hit search
3. Open Registry. Start->Run->Type regedit and click Ok
4. In regedit, Click Edit->Find
5. Type the name of file searched *.123abc
6. Delete all entries in the right pane having Name like 000, 001 etc. Make sure you do not delete (Default)

Select each word and delete. Once you deleted all the entries in the search field, you dont find the list underneath which you searched before.
This is the simple method to follow.
Happy searching - John

Still, try in Internet Explorer
menu -> tools -> internet options -> privacy -> content -> autocomplete.
Deselect all check boxes, and click on "clear..." buttons, then "ok".
