Not sure why but I LOVE listening to sad songs and watching sad movies, cuz I'm a very happy person but I do.

Songs...I mostly like rock and country music so if you have any suggestions under those types of music I'd love it.

Movies...just about anything works.

for sad music there are many sub-categories of sad.

I Started a Joke- Bee Gees; real good but cheesy
Long December- Counting Crows; just depressing
Blower's Daughter- Damien Rice
Sweet Scarlet- Cat Stevens
Ghost- Indigo Girls
Romeo and Juliet- Dire Straits
I Hope I don't fall in love with you- Tom Waits
Salon and Saloon- Jim Croce

That's just a few to get you started. The singer/songwriter road is the best place to find sad songs that are well written.

As far as movies go, the saddest movie is Casablanca, but I'm a guy, so it feeds the messianic complex every man seems to have whether or not they will admit it. Good Luck

City of angles suck!!! La Bamba. That is the saddest movie I have ever seen. That guy's life just sucked and sucked and sucked, then when he was just about to make it big, he gets killed in a plane crash. Whatta a downer.

Other sad movies:
Old Yeller (Don't watch if you love dogs)
Grave of the Fireflies

For songs, I would say, "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton. I swear, that song brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. It so sad, but wonderfully good!

Unfortunately, I don't really watch movies, let alone sad ones, so I can't help you there. Sorry!

Well, it's an old song, but it's a sad one when you listen to the words. It's called "Photograph" by Ringo Starr, I heard it on the radio yesterday, I haven't heard it in awhile!
