Specifically, how could an ob/gyn market his/herself when entering a new market to attract patients who may or may not be happy with their current physician? Every ad says the same thing . . . board certified, etc. What is important for you?

THe best thing is a recommendation from your friends. I know me and most of my girlfriends have the same ob and pediatrician (sp?).

I always look for a man.

I would like an exam room that didn't look like it was built for a 1950's instatution, but that seems a bit too much to ask - so a warm welcoming enviroment would go a long way.

Some one who has time to answer my questions would be great - and not by some nurse - but by the honest to goodness Doctor.

I have to agree word of mouth is the best. You should never go off of an ad as the doctor can say anything he wants to in an ad. Speak with the doctor and get a feel of him/her and their bedside manner. Make sure you are comfortable with them and if you fill uneasy with them at all then they are not the doctor for you.

i will go to a woman gyn if they are in business for a while and have like 10-15 yrs or more. i will never go to a male one EVER. i don't trust men to examine me and if i have to, two females better be in the office. someone who has a good rep and word of mouth is fine, but i go to a clinic that is in a hospital. LANKENAU HOSPITAL IN PHILADELPHIA. PA. EXCELLENT HEALTHCARE. if your in the area.
