I'm such a sceptic these days, how would I really know all the money would go to fight poverty? These things never work out the way they say, and most of the profits usually end up in someones pockets.

Well, the profits aren't Bono's but the music company's. They are then allocated to the songwriters, performers, etc. Distribution and promotion is paid for. There is a lot of stuff going on.
Now if you ask if Bono would donate his share of his royalties (production, performer, songwriter, whatever) and whether I would buy the CD to "fight poverty", I would answer no. If there was a specific plan or the profits were turned over to an established organization like the UN or Gates Foundation, then yes, I would buy the CD without hesitation.
Charity works in rock have a long history. I guess the biggest and most famous of the early one was George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh. If people bought Ravi's sitar playing to support feeding the hungry, we can trust Mr. Hewson to do us right.
(BTW, Harry Chapin had a core group of fans who adored him simply because he gave so much of his royalty percentage to feed the hungry)

If you wanted to help, you wouldn't wait for the CD.
And sorry to rain on anyone's parade who buys into this kind of gimmick - you are still paying a lot of money for the production of that CD, not to mention whoever distributes it will still get their cut. If Bono if only donating his share of the profit, you'd do better by donating directly to an organization that is involved in foreign aid. Cut out the middleman, and pass the savings on to those who really need it.

Probably not. Bono hasn't made a good CD since the 80's, so your premise is a bit flawed. And I would see this as yet another self-aggrandizing scheme.

Bono is a blowhard. He moved himself and his money out of eire while they raised taxes. He needs to have somebody hit him interior the top with a baseball bat. Stinking hypocrite.

Yes I would buy it ... only if he promised to keep the pressure on the world to help end poverty.
