my 1980 rx7 will not start by tuning the key it just turn over and that is it but if i push start it just like 5 feet it start right up and it run good but when i let go of the gas it back fires so is there somehing else beside the copression wold make it do that amd were does the anti aburn soinoid vacam hook up at it is not hook up i cant find a stop for it to hook up

Had both an RX4 and RX7....
Sounds like low compression. "bump' starting spins the rotor enough to build compression to get it running....but the 12V starter doesn't spin the engine over fast enough
Time for new seals....$$$$

Sounds like it's some sort of fuel delivery problem. My '81 Swift did something like that, once. The throttle position sensor had worn out in the lower end, and the control processor couldn't get the initial requirements for a normal start. A push start bypassed that part of the circuit, and after I push started it, it would run fine, but wouldn't idle well. So it could be something like that.

I don't understand what solenoid you're asking about , though. You'll have to expand on that part of the question.
