Women have no rights, can't earn much even if they can work, the fathers don't have to pay support, so the children have to work if they want to help their mothers feed their brothers & sisters. . .
economic & legal realities...

Those kids are pressed into labor by their parents. Often these children come from homes with multiple children. The families "sell" off their kids to work in labor camps for just a few cents a day. In most countries, there are few age restrictions or fair labor practices. These kids can not leave, they are forced into compounds and have to earn their way out, by working.
We are the ones at fault for keeping them working there. The developed world's desire for cheap, mass produced goods means that the lowest bidder will accept the work to produce them. Popping out plastic trinkets, fireworks, or children's toys is big business for countries like China. Their economy thrives on the unfair labor practices that inflict counless Chinese children. So think twice before you purchase that crappy cheap can opener from the dollar store. You are keeping a kid slaved into working and providing monitary sustainance to a country that wants us eventaully eliminated.

It's easy to exploit children in third world countries because they have no voice unlike us in the US. We protect our young with laws that prohibit this kind of barrack acts. The leaders of these country should be forced to work in the sweat shop they create and feel what the children go through. It's horrible to have this and until the people of that country and others stand up, nothing will be done.
Such a shame, such a shame !!!

Iraq?

They would be doing it in England and the US if laws did not prohibit it. It was done in the past not all that long ago and the only way to stop it was strict laws and stricter punishment for those who violated those laws.

That does not happen in Iraq to any great extent. I don't think anyone is doing too much manufacturing there at the moment. Mostly duck and hide.

I think of it this way, our country is about 230 years old. We are a child amongst nations. Our ideas are different than most but because we are the melting pot of the world, we are made up of many great cultures. Most other nations have been around for much longer than us, hundreds of years, even 1'000s of years. They have developed their ideals for a long time. Based on their experiences, and religions and belief systems. To them, we are fairly new at this. Is what they do wrong? In their eyes, maybe not, in our eyes, maybe so. Who is ultimately right? Lets say you are married with one child and so is your neighbor. Your neighbor is older than you and their child is older than your child. You both raise your kids differently. Who's way is right and who's is wrong? Shouldn't you both be allowed to raise your kids as you see fit? Shouldn't they be able to run their country as they see fit? Okay, there are human rights to consider here.Ultimately, I would have to say child slavery is definitely wrong, but if they do it willingly or need to work to help the family survive, then I think there ore other things to consider.

Beats turning tricks dont it??

This country swaddles their babies a little too much to suit me. Ive had jobs of one kind or another all my life..when i was outta diapies, that is. Its part of growing up...and out..and away.

Did you know..about 100 years ago...11 and 12 Year olds were getting married here in the US?? Kansas still has those laws on the books. This notion that kids are "KIDS" in America is really quite modern..

and woefully antiquated.

They have no laws in that country for labor laws. So they use them as cheap labor. They see it as saving money they pay them less then the do any other workers.

They don't want to. They have to because their family is starving. Also, this is a result of American globalism as American businesses penetrate into the system of these countries and wiping out local businesses. The local business people have to survive by merging into big businesses.

They are taking advantage of these poor kids, who are virtually slaves. They pay them very little and deny them their childhood.
