I think anyone who wants to migrate here should do so according to our laws.
I think anyone caught sneaking in should be treated like a terrorist, and immediately executed on sight. Shoot to kill.

Okay.
I don't really have a problem with the illegals, with the exception of them ILLEGALLY crossing our borders, hence the term.
First things first, they (the Mexicans)need to get back in line behind the Haitians, Cubans, various peoples from the continent of Africa....
Secondly, Mexicans have to peacably overthrow their government and retool their economic system so there's no need to illegally migrate to the US at all.
In relation to point two: The Mexican border-jumpers don't want to leave Mexico. They want to commute from various towns in Mexico to the US for (in their view) better paying jobs. (for similar reasons, Americans commute through various states for good jobs.) They see a work trip to Texas the same way an American in Utah sees a work trip to Texas.
What I'd like to see is a permanent visa program for Canadian and Mexican citizens. They're our nearest neighbors. One of the conditions is that Canada and Mexico would have to have the same program instituted in their countries. That way, the three main countries of North America could freely commute between borders.
However, that can't happen until Mexico respects our borders, and fixes the problems within its own borders. It also can't happen until we have tight enough border security to withstand attacks from Islamic terrorist scum.
In the meantime, we should focus our efforts on deporting the ones who have committed other crimes(not the crime we're focused on). That, and we should deal with the companies that hire illegal migrants. Fines, penalties, and jail time from the government's end; boycotts from the individuals' end. (anyone have a list of companies who knowingly hire illegals?)
Aside from that, I can't think of much else to do regarding the problem.
(had 9/11 not happened, we wouldn't be discussing border security now. so, Mexicans who have overstayed your visas; and those of you who just ignored American laws outright--blame ISLAM. had it not been for those nineteen Saudis, we would have let you cut in the INS line to your hearts' content. and sorry--I took French and German in HS, so I know very little Spanish[read: none].)
