Listen, this is the truth. No reputable Literary Agent will ever ask
you to pay any money to read your novel. That is not the status
quo. It is considered unacceptable amoung honest Agents. So,
you don't have to pay for a reading. But, some Agents may ask
for mailing, shipping or whatever. That is ok. Keep fishing until
you get a good one. If your lucky enough to get published, many
publishers will give you an advance on your book. Here is a web-
site for Reputable Agents ( who are well connected). Here it is:

i agree with the first person, but i have one other thing you might want to check out.

i'm starting my own publishing company, and i will look at anything from drawings to short stories to music, to comics, and even novels and novellas (though in the first stages i will be unable to publish the larger articles)

for a complete list of accepted material and information on how to contact me for further information and verification that i am who i am and not trying to con you, please drop me an e-mail.

(we do not accept anything that is not either copyrighted or in some other way capable of being distinguished as yours and not anyone else’s.)

email at robphx387@yahoo.com for aforementioned objects.

Check Writer's Market -- a publication from Writer's Digest... sometimes you are better off sending in your MS without an agent... hey, if they want your work, it won't be hard to find an agent to represent you.

Never pay to have someone read your work... they'll pay you...
