Brown keeps the pace fast, the puzzles that lead to the Grail are exceedingly clever, and there is a flurry of surprises and betrayals before the mystery is finally solved. Whatever the reader makes of the religious theories put forth, Brown has a great deal of interest to say about the early days of Christianity, the influence of pagan religions on it and the legend of the Grail. He says the revelations about Jesus — not to be revealed here — have been whispered about for centuries, but have never overcome the opposition of organized Christianity. How much of this is fact and how much is fiction? Read the book and make up your own mind.

Well the point is that it's just the most amazing, engrossing story I have ever read! I was up reading til so late that I fell asleep time and again and lost my page - I just could NOT put it down! The fact that there are also some factual things used in the story too just makes it seem so real! Is there a bloodline of Christ? Why is everyone so bothered? What lengths would some people go to to keep the truth hidden from the world! You gotta read it! I've been told those who read the book first think the film is crap, but those who see the film without reading the book think it's good!!
Go for it!!!!

Getting the truth out about Mary Magdalene being Jesus' wife... Yes - Jesus may be the son of God but he was also human, a Jew and had family -- his bloodline lives on... That feminine power existed from the beginning and there is both a God and a Goddess! ! ! . . .

It's all a matter of what you want to believe - that there are possibilities out there. Some of the book may be fictional BUT then again if you dig deeper you can find truths!

in which they say:

This book concerns the attempts of Robert Langdon, Professor of Religious Symbology at Harvard University, to solve the murder of renowned curator Jacques Saunière (see Bérenger Saunière) of the Louvre Museum in Paris. The title of the novel refers, among other things, to the fact that Saunière's body is found in the Denon Wing of the Louvre naked and posed like Leonardo da Vinci's famous drawing, the Vitruvian Man, with a cryptic message written beside his body and a Pentagram drawn on his stomach in his own blood. The interpretation of hidden messages inside Leonardo's famous works, (which relate to the concept of the Sacred feminine) including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, figure prominently in the solution to the mystery.

Vitruvian Man, by Leonardo da Vinci. The main conflict in the novel revolves around the solution to two mysteries:

What secret was Saunière protecting that led to his murder?
Who is the mastermind behind his murder and the murder of the three other senechaux?

The novel has several concurrent storylines that follow different characters throughout different parts of the book. Eventually all the storylines and characters are brought together and resolved in its denouement.

The unraveling of the mystery requires the solution to a series of brain-teasers, including anagrams and number puzzles. The solution itself is found to be intimately connected with the possible location of the Holy Grail and to a mysterious society called the Priory of Sion, as well as to the Knights Templar. The story also involves an exaggerated rendition of the Catholic organization Opus Dei.

It is a very well written FICTION novel about the holy grail. In the book, Dan Brown supposes that the holy grail is a history of the descendents of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdaline. Davince was supposedly a member of a secret organization in charge of keeping the location of this information a secret, as well as he left clues to the truth in his paintings. It is a really well written suspense mystery, but in the end is a fiction that has caused a lot of controversy, because people are treating it like a non fiction work.
