i have no idea. i know that nothing is sure fire, so it still worries me sometimes even though i'm careful about things. i've known girls that were on the pill that still go pregnant, some claimed "they forgot to take it", and i've had condoms break before, which is scary as hell. so, i typically make sure that my girl and i have both. she takes her pill, and i wrap the whopper. lol. until i'm prepared to support a baby, i dont think its fair TO THE BABY to risk having one. i can deal with my decisions and actions, but a baby shouldnt have to deal with my poor judgment. and the big box of brand name condoms is only like $30, and birth control pills are about $24 for a month (at least where my girl gets them). so, anyone that works 10 or 15 hours a week should be able to afford them.

I volunteer at a pregnancy center that gives options other than abortion and there are many places that give out affordable birth control so while that may be a reason they give it is not usually the case. For one many people think that by having a baby they will either tie down a guy or that they will have a happier life with a baby not thinking about all the hard work and money that a child takes. Another reason could be due to the health risks that the pill or other contraceptives can give. Many people actually get sick on the pill or can not take it due to other health risks that they already submit their body to such as smoking. Many people are allergic to condoms. Personally i think i would rather have a urinary infection than a baby. That is the best answer I can give. I hope it helps you out.

This usually happens especially when it is teen pregnancy. That is the time when we start taking some control in our lives and believe that we know everything. They think that they can handle this kind of responsibility, you may say they didn't think about it or don't know anything about it. But they probably thought they made the best decision. Also when my friend was first pregnant at 15. She was too scared to get her baby aborted, and it was too late when she discovered she was pregnant to use birth control. Also, before the pregnancy, she used to say that she would never keep the baby because she can't handle it. But when she was pregnant, her mood changed and she said how she can not go on without her baby, and that they are so connected. You see it's these things that change their mood on wanting to keep the baby.

condoms - the men don't want
pills - they think its expensive and scared they'll put on weight
iud - most have heard horror stories about this method and some just don't like the idea of having something in their body
despite all your efforts, most will end up practising coitus interruptus + rhythm method
the new moms can be educated about the contraceptive benefits of breastfeeding
All said and done, I normally don't lecture them. I'll start with a simple question: "So, when are you going for your next one?". They'll give a weird look and say NO! I catch them there and prod on, asking them what they plan to do next.
Go with their thoughts. Explore their beliefs and worries. With time, you'll begin to win them over.

Strictly because they are whores that want to sit on their butts to collect more welfare. It's not much more than that. I'm 20 with 2 kids. Both were concieved on birth control. I've never been on welfare either though. I'm still with their father. I feel that if you can't feed em, don't breed em. For the ones allergic to the pill, there are CONDOMS, the NUVA RING, SPOUNGE, IUD, PATCH, DEPO SHOT and many others.
Dixie, if they are on welfare they usually have the medical card. Yea, they can get free birth control. And another place is planned parenthood. Free birth control again.

A lot of women are scared, or cannot afford them. Some women do not know where to get them.
Little do they know that women can get Birth Control for free (Most times) at your local Public Health.
I did. I need to go back to get my six month refill. :)

I have NO CLUE...so I won't be helpful...sorry. I think that alot of people have children who do not understand what a gift they are or how much love and time it takes to raise a child. That's the best I can do...Good luck in your job. It's gotta' be a tough one.

Some people, myself included, are allergic or have adverse reactions to many of the hormonal components found within birth control medication.

They can't afford it. They don't have insurance to cover the cost of pills and doctor's visits to get the presriptions for the pills. They're scared/embarassed to ask for it or to even go see the OB/GYN. Their are a multitude of reasons that vary from woman to woman, I'm guessing

Mainly because if their parents find out they are using birth control, they might think they are having sex all the time.
