Put your hands on her hips as her arms are wrapped around your neck (no, you won't choke!). That's when things are like HOT and sweet. If it's just casual, then your hands are still on her hips, but her hands will be on your shoulders. Try holding her nicely and she'll come closer to you. ;] You'll know when you're close when you can grasp both of your hands together behind her back.
Just gently rock back and forth with her if she's leading. More than likely, you'll be leading so don't step on her shoes! Haha, just kidding. I think it's so adorable when a boy steps on the girl's shoes during a dance and he gets so embarrassed. Ah, I miss middle school.
And if anything, don't rest your head on her shoulders. If you're taller let her put her head on your chest/shoulder.

Awww.....
ok two kinds of slow dancing. Close and Away.
Away:
1. The palm of your hands go on her hips. Her hands go on your shoulders.
2. You stand at full arms length from one another.
3.Now just smile, stare into her eyes, say something nice about her hair, and sway back and forth.
Close:
1. You wrap your arms around her waist to her back to your fingers are tied together. She puts her arms around the back of your neck.
2. Stand close.
3. Do step 3 above.
Don't forget to have fun and enjoy :)

The proper stance is, hold her left hand with yours and put your right hand on her waist. This way she can feel which way you want her to move. Her right hand should be on your shoulder.
But... if you are going together or like each other then you would usually put your hands on her waist, and she would put hers around your neck.
Dance lessons are fun and a great way to meet girls.

She will put hers hands on your shoulders or around your neck and you should put yours on hers hips or around her waist. Have fun! And try to dance even though you think you look stupid. Everyone looks stupid dancing. Girls love guys who dance, even is it is poorly. It's the thought that counts and knowing that you have the confidence to get out there.

dude you never slow dance at a dance.
i took dance lessons and it's fun and all but i realized how big of a waste of money it was when i realized that people just dont dance like they used to.
don't go with the waist. have your arms a littttle bit around her so your hands are actually behind her...

Ok. Your hands go round her waist (or on her hips - depending on how comfortable you are with her) and her hands go round your neck. Then you just step from left foot to right quite slowly (Ha!!) and go round in a circle. Have fun most of all! Everyone has to learn somewhere!

Awwwwwwwwww... How cute!! Listen kiddo...all the answers are really good ones.....Just remember her left hand goes in your right hand.....your left hand goes on her waist just above her hip....if she moves in close...its a great time for a little hug...just move slow...and watch those feet...make sure they stay on the floor and not on her feet.

A girl's stance is one hand on boy's shoulder and other hand in boy's hand and with a boy, one hand should be on the girl's waist and the other in the girl's hand. Remember, you don't want to scare her but you want to be close enough to talk to her.
