It will give nintendo a big bump, assuming the controller isn't too goofy. The other systems are overshooting the market far too much on price.

With teh Price Point of PS3 and the innovation and expanding market base of the Wii, Nintendo will slide back in imo.
The DS and the Wii are appealing to non-gamers AND gamers at the same time.!
Nintendo has saved face and will come out strong. Even the CEO of XBOX thinks that. They think that Wii and 360 will be fighting for the top spot!

I don't think Nintendo will reclaim the top spot with most units sold. However, nintendo is truly thinking innovatively, and the system has been well received by the gaming magazine that I read. While the other new systems seem to be a nice upgrade, the Wii is redefining what it means to play games. Plus, its price is going to be well below XBOX 360 and PS3.

It will keep it alive, but as long as Nintendo has the image of being a kid's video system (I mean, Nintendo-originated games are Mario and Peach and Zelda. They don't have a self-generated franchise like "Halo" or "GTA"), they will always trail in the marketplace.
How many video companies make games for XBox and PS, but avoid Nintendo? A lot more than you may realize.

They will never return to the near-monopoly days of the late 1980s, but I believe that Wii will innovate enough to create additional demand for the games. Plus, several of the franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid) seem to be as popular as ever.

Yes!!!!!!! The Wii, although no longer known as the Revolution, is a revolution in gaming nonetheless. that controller, plus old favorites (Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, to name a few), and new faces (Red Steel, Project H.A.M.M.E.R.), contribute to the greatest gaming system in history.
WII WILL WII WILL ROCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think PS3 out-priced themselves, and the WII-mote will drag in casual players.
