They key words here are "all around", so that would exclude Michael Jordan.

Magic definitely has to be considered one of the greatest all around players of all time. He single handedly re-invented the point guard position. At 6'8", he created alot of matchup problems, as he was almost impossible to defend. He was a great passer, and made everyone around him better.

Oscar Robertson was also another complete player, averaging over 24 ppg, 7 rpg, and 9 apg. He and Magic were probably the two best guards of all time.

The only one I would put ahead of Magic would be Larry Bird. He and Magic were a very similar type of player, but Bird was a more consistant scorer and better rebounder than Magic. They were both winners all the way.

BTW....You are going to get alot of people that say Michael Jordan is the best (without any facts or reasons to back it up). Just ignore them.

I evaluate Jordan the desirable participant yet i am going to't see myself no longer picking Magic if I had the first p.c.. and they happened to be accessible at the same time. In different words i'd p.c.. Magic earlier Jordan understanding i became picking a participant this is no longer inevitably considered extra efficient. i'd then experience free understanding my crew is waiting day a million for 12 seasons to win the championship. Johnson confronted harder communities, harder all-time communities like the Celtics, 76ers, and Pistons contained in the finals than Jordan did dealing with the 'ninety one Lakers, 'ninety 2 Trailblazers, and a good yet overated 'ninety six Supersonics (So Suns and Jazz were good).

Probably Bob Petit, but few people today know of him. The most enjoyable/entertaining/scoring machine I ever saw was 'Pistol Pete Marovich.' He was fantastic and scored his college leading points before the 3-point line. Had he played with the 3 point line, his point totals would have been unbelievable. He died a tragic early death.
