Well, there other dimensions.. but in us, and may not be not in universe... logic tells us only two in universe... Time & Space, where as in our consciousness, at deeper levels many more ! That is what spirituality is all about ! Black holes and its theories are yet inconclusive though a credible possibility regarding other 'Universal' dimensions. But it looks like, a prototype is already available within us, and given the known details of black hole, it looks reasonable to be able to see it within us too !

My personal definition of "dimension" For what i will talk of, Is Similar to another universe, However since there is a poss for infinite universes, any of them could be the exact same, except on personal disecions. This is the X axis in our theory, It would be fairly simple to access these, However going to another dimension, the Y axis scale is next to impossible. 2 ways i have figured so far.
1: An extreme level of energy, nothing really physical can pass. So teleportation by dematerializing would be an option. Etc.
2: Since accessing physically would be next to impossible, The other solution is that if your mind is strong enough, "intelligence, will, endurance" You can travel to these dimensions in your dreams, However you may not end up in a similar universe, These are the ones that have had a major world event change. A property Non-existant in our universe. ie: Advanced tech, another species. Alien life that visits us. Etc. Though a problem is that if something powerfull enough happened to you, say a force that knew you were in a dream, You could die. Though there are rules.
Such as a force Cannot attempt to kill you in your dimesion. (killing you in this world) Without a fair fight, otherwise that would violate the rules.
I dont know if "the rules" apply in every dimension. I belive they may be in place to protect those who can do so. As physical travel is pretty much forbidden, you would go through a barrier dimesion. Basically hell. One such world i was in is armagedon, Literally. Humans were decimated. less than 1% of the population survived. Those few that did are genetically damaged, Either from radiation or chemical warfare. However we found a survivor, a little girl that was pure enough to allow us to clone and artifically reproduce. We couldnt survive on earth anymore! The dimension was destroyed, And so prodject exodus came in to play. Moving our package, several thousand "seeds" Those that would carry on the human race. to another dimension physically. The barrier, the last resort of keeping a army from taking over dimensions. We had to fight through that. a division of soldiers (mostly clones) 10k men. Only a handful survived. You had to last an hour. Then we could teleport to our new home. A paradise, our troubles would allow generations to survive. No one on earth survived. The day we left was the day humanity was wiped off the face of the earth.
These dreams can be so livid, extremely realistic to the point only ONE thing points out the diffrence. For me one was that i had my wallet (i had lost it and didnt find it) The line between reality and dreams, becomes very blurry.

I know the second part was a bit out there, it was some of my experience.
It may not be the most well done theory, but i think i may be on to something, No physical evidence could prove it so far. But it does make some sense right?

Yankfan is correct, but...

M-theory, the new-hotness in the physics world postulates that there are no less than ELEVEN dimensions, one in space and ten in time. The reason that we never see the other (seven) ones is that they are "curled up" into very tiny sizes. Current research and experiment should confirm or disprove this theory within a few decades, although most scientists expect it to be confirmed.

Edit - SpiritualSeeker, lay off the drugs and don't post in the Science and Mathematics section again. Ever.

There is a theory that said "Before the Big Bang happened universe was like a bubble with about 12 dimensions . But suddenly it lose its balance and seperated in to two parts and after that to other parts and because of this we can say that there are not any 12 dimensions in universe because they lose during formatting the world .

They are hidden...here's a really simple way to prove that...

1 put an "x" and a "o" on a piece of paper four inches apart
2 close one eye while looking at either the "x" or "o" and move the paper closer or farther away until the other symbol disappears....
3 where did it go?
4 It went into another dimension

Read Bryan Greene's "The Elegant Universe." He proposes that there must be several dimensions, (at least 17, as I recall) for his string theory to work. I don't see why there can't be other dimensions.

I have read that there are 11 dimensions, space comprising of three, time constituting a fourth, and seven that are interwoven into the fabric of space-time, but I believe my girlfriend has discovered a twelth in which she currently lives.

String theory states 11. The main ones are the three we know of, time, and the one that runs parellel to time (go figure). Probably more it you're a trekkie

There are only four known dimensions, the three physical are length width and depth and the fourth is time

They are curled up very densely in the Calabi Yau space.
