oh ofcourse it's a great thing! Because you guys know each other more, the marriage will be much stronger to withstand any problems and disagreements you may have at each other later on in life. I do not think both of you will be sick of each other... ever! And if you ever feel bored with your high school sweet heart, that could mean that your not giving 100% into your marriage and that you have to find by all means, ways of making your marriage more interesting and vibrant. Perhaps have fun going out to movies, the fun fair, beach. Treat each other like you would when you are young teenagers crazy in love, having the time of your life! haha Goodluck and don't give up or in.

People need to grow and experience different things in life. A lot of times they do not get to do this when they marry someone they have been with since high school. That's why most couples that were high school sweethearts are the ones that still live in the same town, have some kids, hang around the same friends from high school. They basically are still living the same life as high school but with kids and bills. For some that is OK, but I would want more out of life.

Depends on the people, I suppose. I have friends who have been married for 20 something years who were high school sweethearts. I also have friends who married their high school sweetheart and it went south in a few years. Depends on if they are dedicated to the marriage for the long run or not.

Why not? Why would it be more likely to end in divorce? Most marriages these days seem to end in divorce....highschool sweethearts or not.

My husband and I were friends in grade school. We were married in high school. That was eight years ago. Now we have two children (ages 6,4) and neither of us would change a thing about our lives.
Why have you been together this long? Just listen to your heart!!! If there are doubts, write them down. Then weigh them againest the positive aspects of your relationship.....that usually puts things into perspective.....!!!

My husband and I have been married for 21yrs and we are high school sweet hearts.....If is very difficult for anyone to stay together for a long period of time. Marriage is all about going through the good times and the bad times....But always working things out!!! It does not matter if you are high school sweet heart's or you have been together of 2yrs; you will still go through all phases of marriage....That's life!!!

I think mabey you both should branch out for a little time to get a taste of the waters, and then if you still desire that person in the same way go for it. As the sayin goes if you love it let it go.....
