What are some of your favorite Jazz "pieces", recordings, or cd's?
I like so many - Fourplay, Maze, Ouincey Jones, Kenny G, Bob James, George Benson, and Boney James. There are so many more that I like - love. Listening to Jazz - for me - it's an expression of deep soul steering love - peace - understanding - I could spend every second of every day in the place I go with JAZZ. If JAZZ isn't your thing - would you share with me/us what form of music expression you love?

I'm very surprised to hear Jazz mentioned without Miles Davis or John Coltrane thrown in. They're the pair that hooked me.

You can almost feel the emotion in the songs- like Summertime or Green Dolphin Street for example. You just feel the music flow through you. If you haven't already- try it. You won't be sorry.

interior the Forties, you probably did not purchase albums. you purchased 78s, a 10-inch disk with about a three minute recording on both facet. I nonetheless have countless dozen of them. June 8, 1946: Nat "King" Cole’s recording of “(Get Your Kicks On) direction sixty six” enters the R&B chart, the position that is going to height at #3. Later that summer season, it turns right into a pop hit besides, in simple terms lacking the full Ten.

MILES. DAVIS.

If you haven't heard Miles Davis before you die, you have not lived a full life. I would highly recommend that you seek out the album "Kind of Blue" as your primer - it's easily one of his best. An absolutely classic, essential Jazz masterpiece.

Also, check out San's recommendations as well. All are amazing, I'm particularly fond of Sir Duke myself.
