I'm on a competitive dance team at my studio. It's summer, and I lost my split. I need advice on as to the quickest way to get it back. Sure, I can stretch, but what kind of stretches? Can you get into a little more detail? Please help.

i got my splits down in about a month(don't know if that's not fast enough or not). first off i get in the lunge position and put my arms on each side of my front leg.i make sure my back leg is straight and i'm putting all my weight on my front leg. i hold that for about 30 seconds (it's hard but worth it). then i do that same thing with my other leg.
After that, i get into the plea(don't know if i spelled it right) position and bring out my left leg. u should be able to feel the stretch on the left thigh. hold it for 20 seconds. then i do the same thing except with my right leg. good luck!

honestly the best way to get your splits is to do a strenuous stretch and have slowly rock in and out of your split maybe even have someone carefully push your weight evenly over your hips. good luck

my dance teachers have told me this. it's quite simple. if you stay 5 minutes, twice a day down in the split stretch (as far as you can go) you'll get your splits quickly. it worked for me, and it's really easy and simple.

Well being a dancer as well and knowing how important it is to being limber...you can try getting on floor with your legs wide as possible...get someone to sit on your back...and try to go futher as possible...it will hurt but in the end itll be worth it!..and trying that position on the wall and go end with gravity..also doing the baseball squat with ya elbows in between ya legs...okay bye!GOOD LUCK!

massage and exercize you inner muscles with side kicks. Kick each leg to the side of your body, really good to do in a pool, because your body weight is not on these muscles. Exercize all upper leg muscles, front and back.
