Yes , children learned more , They had more responsibilty then to day. You did not sit in front of computors most of the day. You did chores around the house for spending money etc. That is why there are so many over weight people today. Everyone needs to be more active , earn what they get, Things were harder for us older folks but we learned how to do things on our own .As we get older we get wiser. Pen

Some of it was and some not. We have more technology now and that is great. Our day to day lives are made easier by them but in the past people were much kinder toward each other, morals were generally higher and family's were closer to each other.

Yep, they sure were, no AIDS, no Bird flu threatening, no doomsday stuff on tv, things were cheap,plenty of gas, cigarettes 26 Cents a pack, bread 5 cents a loaf. People welcomed you to the neighborhood when you moved in, you didn't have to lock your door at night thinking someone would break in and people were polite most of the time. And no rap music!!!!!

The problem with them good old days is that they are often times viewed through rose tinted glasses.

I don't know if they really were that good...just more simple maybe....less technology and etc. And lower prices due to lower cost of living. But, those lower prices were also reflected by lower pay, too. A lot of people never mention that when they recall what prices were "..when I was your age...".

Cars didn't have seatbelts
Most didn't graduate from High School
Average salary was a couple of grand a year
Medical care was far from advanced
Smoking and drinking while pregnant wasn't frowned upon

Yeah they sucked.

nope. why, becuase when your in the good olds days it sucked really bad... then you progress into suckier situations and look back and say "wow, those times were easy".. so nothing was ever good, it just got $hittier.
