I love Amiyah - speaking as a Liz, you're doing your daughter a favor choosing a unique name :)

I think names should be more than sound pretty or be melodic. You should put more thought into naming her for a reason. I mean what do you want her to be. What do you want people to think about when they say her name. What do you want her to think about herself when she speaks her name? Americans name kids because it sounds pretty. Most other cultures name children because of the season, religion, a purpose, etc. When she asks you why you named her, I wouldn't want you to just say "because it sounded pretty."
Also, think about the spelling...it's a pain to learn how to spell names...it's a great name for a secretary. You might have a meaning but didn't include that so I am just going by what you did provide.

It is quite pretty but people will pronounce it incorrectly, children will giggle at school when the teacher can't remember or say the name and it will be impossible for everyone to spell. Why not choose a name that is still pretty but easy to say and spell?

She might prefer Amy Lynn.

No offense but that's a bad name because Amiyah sounds like I'm your and boys will probably tease her like 'Hey baby Amya lover' i dunno i wouldnt name my baby that. I like the name Azaleah (azalia). It's a beautiful name....very exotic

I like the first but not sure if the combination of first and middle names goes together.

why not spell it Amaya? I think it would look nicer when written.

My daughter's middle name is pronounced like lynn-a but I spelled it lynea
