Since I've taught both, I can tell you that accounting is one of the "hot" fields today. But finance and accounting go together. Many of the principles taught in one also come up in the other. Perfect example, financial statements. In accounting, you learn how to read, create, and intepret them. In finance, you learn to read and intepret.

So basically, you cannot go wrong with either one.

As for the MBA program, you can get an MBA with various concentrations. For example, my B.A. is in Economics, but my M.B.A. is in Finance with a concentration in Investments.

Some schools offer a general MBA, while others offer a more specialized, like an MBA in Management. The real difference is in how much coursework in various areas you take.
