Do not buy a laptop with a Celeron CPU unless it is one with more cache than that model. Stick with Pentium M's or the newer Dual Core systems. I would not buy any laptop for less than $800 unless you plan on tossing it away as soon as the warranty goes out.
Although not a Dell fan I would check their Outlet/Refurb site for good prices on units with full warranty. Staples has had some nice deals on Asus systems lately.
You will want a 14" screen.

Either get a dell, alienware, mac, or toshba. You dont want to go with those unknown brands. Go with a trusted brand. the screen is so small compaired to modern laptops so i would seriously consider getting something new from a major company

good size, weight little and enough power cpu, check the ram and features like optical drive, connections, etc. compare all that with the price and what you want it for, however i don't think you are getting warranty so you take your chance.

It seems ok for the price, and Averatec's have gotten great reviews overall, go to this website for the review: http://www.small-laptops.com/averatec-1020/
Like any computer, it depends on what you are going to use it for, like gaming, etc.

unless it's cheaper than $100, i wouldn't buy it. i'd recommend buying a dell laptop - or if you to try a mac, get one of them. don't get that one though..

Get a mac, you won't regret it. They are easy to use, sleek, fast, and compatible.
