Well, in Moscow don't miss the Goom department store, Arbot Street, the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square, Lenin's Tomb, and the University of Moscow. In St. Petersburg/Leningrad/Stalingrad/Leningrad/St. Petersburg, don't miss The Hermitage, The Aurora, the harbor area, the Winter Palace, and the shopping square. Also take a canal ride.

Stalingrad is called Volgograd now. It's only main attraction is the Memorial complex devored to "Stalingrad Battle"
Other replies covered Moscow pretty well. In St.Peterburg - in addition to Hermitage museum and other places in the city itself - go to its suburbs. Petergof (Petrodrvorets) with it fountains is a must.
