Virtual memory is the use of your hard disk in place of physical memory or RAM. The problem with this is that the hard disk is much slower than physical memory so it will bog down the system and slow down other data transactions the computer is trying to make with the hard disk.
Solution... buy more ram. You can increase the virtual memory size to get rid of the error, but you won't be running any faster.
Also... you may want to check for running programs that have memory leaks. These are applications or services that do no unallocated unused memory. Check your task manager using alt_ctrl_del and click the processes tab. look at the memory usage. You can also click the performance tab. the page file size will give you a good approximation of how much virtual memory you are using.

Virtual memory is a temporal space or cache that is being secure on your Hard Drive by your Ram for temporal operations.
So that your Ram can operate with some pace without which you will continue to have slow motion operations.Increased your Ram to the Reccomended level as per your O/S.

Virtual memory or virtual memory addressing is a memory management technique, used by multitasking computer operating systems wherein non-contiguous memory is presented to a software (aka process) as contiguous memory. This contiguous memory is referred to as the virtual address space.
Non technically speaking, this is memory used to store temporary processes used by the software on you computer. You can adjust this setting by going to your Contorl Panel > System > Advanced>Performance>Settings>Advanced. THat should resolve this issue for you.

your virtual memory is a cache file windows writes to the harddrive to free up ram to use in programs. If you have not changed the settings, you need to reboot and it dumps the virtual memory

As one other person answered, it's "memory" data that is swapped out to your hard drive from your RAM memory. If your system is saying you are low on virtual memory frequently, you either have the size of the file set too small or you are running out of room on your hard disk.

You're computer probably needs more RAM for the speed you're downloading at. When this happens you can reboot and it resets (all memory is lost.)

You have too many programs running in the background, your memory doesn't have the capacity to handle it all. Close out all of the unnecessary things in the background and try it again.
