I'm thinking about moving to Buffalo, NY from San Diego, CA for college. Does anyone happen to know if unemployment is high in Buffalo, NY?

The US unemployment rate in May 06 was 4.4%. The same rate was for New York State. Unemployment in the Buffalo-Nigara Falls area was 4.9% which is somewhat higher than the national and state rates. The only places in New York State where the rate is higher than that are in the Bronx and Kings suburbs of New York City, the Orleans suburb in Rochester, the Oswego suburb in Syracuse, and in Elmira.
