Numbers are far more important. Letters are used for written communication, but only among those who use that particular alphabet. Our letters are meaningless to the Chinese for instance. Numbers are universal however. (Not the symbols used to describe them-the numbers themselves). Numbers and mathematics would exist even if humans did not - our alphabet would not. When and if we ever do meet extraterrestrials, our first communications will probably be with numbers (if only at first to convey that we are intelligent.)

Numbers.
0 and 1 are the most two important numbers ever. Some people don't know how important numbers are because they don't know the history of 0 and the history of 1.
Letters are just "literary culture", they are not the same everywhere you go.
But, Numbers are international. Its the same Mathematics anywhere you go.
You can write anything you want with 0 and 1.
But, the number zero did not have its own Roman numeral.

Letters are a local idea of communication. Numbers are a universal form of communication. Ask any IT professor how computers talk to each other using only 2 numbers, 0 and 1. It called binary and it is a language that is able to encompass any other language with any number of letters.
Numbers are more important.

In attending to comprehend to study you're prepared to remedy issues, both numerical & written. Numerical issues are frequently written, so that you want to be able to study them!!!

When we were kids, we learn to count first, then we learn how to read. So, numbers are much more important. Even if people can read, but if they know numbers, they know how small $1 is, capish?
