Nah, language has been ever changing and evolving. The dramatic increase in communication globaly has just acted as a catalyst recently, I think.
The English language for instance is a combination of anciant Germanic, French (Latin), and a dialect of the Picts that originated from Viking settlers. Do we use the word "forsooth" anymore? or stick "st" on the back of all the verbs pertaining to the subject "you" or "thou" anymore? nope. Its just something tha happened. Languages will continue to change, its inevitable...as much as the French may try to stifle it ;)

Language always changes. If our language hadn't changed, we wouldn't now have words like "refrigerator" and "computer". Just because something changes, though, doesn't mean the change is for the worse.

It's not really a devolution of our language. It's just a sign of the growing laziness of our kind.

I hope not. I hope it's just laziness or rebellion, but it still frightens me.
