Because Bush and his bible-beating Christian conservative buddies are a bunch of idiots who think its their way or the highway. They take everything in the bible literally, not having the sense to realize that it is - in some instances, a good history book, but otherwise just a bunch of morality tales. And as long as you believe like they do, you'll go to heaven blah blah blah. There's some good advice in the bible, but a lot of it just isn't true and some, such as the Noah story, are even based on tales from other cultures, Noah being a direct plagiarism of the Sumerian tale of Gilgamesh. The sooner we run that bunch out of Washington, the better off we'll all be.

Not everything. Most of the things government does have nothing to do with the Bible, (i.e. voting, raising their own salaries, cutting education, raising a military of world-conquest proportions, trade agreements, keeping Americans either docile or fear-stricken, etc.).

As best as I can tell, taking from the poor and giving to the rich wasn't exactly what Jesus had in mind.

Telling outright lies, distorting the truth and wronging other Americans just to get votes and stay in power doesn't really fit into the Christian concept.

Hiring puppets to spread lies about those who disagree with our administration isn't exactly a Christian thing to do either.

And on and on and on ...
