Whoops you've got your terminology wrong. I guess you are actually refering to stem cells. Sadly none of your 'experts' picked up on this.

Its a question of ethics. THe cells belong to the living baby and no one has the right to harvest them for research.

When you have a child you can elect to have those stem cells stored in case your child or someone in your immediate family have a disease like leukemia. You can also "donate" cells. But I believe that there are guidelines in different sates. It's kinda like the Marijuana deal. The State of California allows it for medicinal purposes but our Government says that it is illegal.

because to get a good sample of t-cells it must be taken from brain or spinal cord tissue.. and its not safe to tap such things.. at least thats what i believe i read in Scientific American in some article last year
